Cook Time with Remmi – May 2018

I hesitated to present my Yum Yums recipe because it reminds me of chili dishes and meatloaf… every cook thinks theirs is the best!  My version is jam packed with veggies.  I hope you enjoy this dish… but hey… I always encourage my Chef Club Fans to experiment with recipes and make it your own.  This is one of those great dishes that you can easily experiment with different ingredients.  The coleslaw recipe gives this meal a refreshing side dish with just a touch of natural sweetness with the apple and honey.  “Until I discovered cooking, I was never interesting in anything” One of my favorite quotes by one of my favorite people… Julia Childs.  Enjoy!

Rockin’ Yum Yums

Ingredients:

  • Olive Oil
  • Onion
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Bell Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Ground Chuck
  • Tomato Paste
  • Chili Powder
  • Cumin
  • Brown Sugar
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Water
  • Cider Vinegar
  • Worchester Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Hamburger Buns

Directions:

  1. Wash produce and add olive oil to heated pan.
  2. Add onions, carrot, celery, bell pepper, and garlic and sauté. Add remaining ingredients except hamburger buns.
  3. Toast hamburger buns.
  4. Assemble the buns and patties.

Side Ingredients:

  • Green Cabbage
  • Apple
  • Green Onion
  • Jalapeno Pepper
  • Cilantro
  • Parsley
  • Light Oil
  • Lime Juice
  • Honey
  • Salt and Pepper

Side Directions:

  1. Wash produce.
  2. Combine cabbage, apple, green onion, jalapeno pepper, cilantro, and parsley.
  3. Mix oil, lime juice, honey, and salt and pepper in a separate bowl.
  4. Toss coleslaw with the dressing.
