India has one of the oldest cultures in the world. It goes back about 5,000 years, and is a largely diverse country with distinct cultures from different regions. Arts, food, religion, and language are a few of the many aspects of Indian culture.

There are a variety of art forms such as woven silk, textiles, pottery and sculptors. A very well-known art commonly used is called the “henna tattoo” which are temporary tattoos made from an Indian paste in a variety of beautiful colors. This paste is now sold all over the world for many people to draw these famous henna tattoos.

The art of sculpting amazing eyebrows has also evolved in the US. Americans crave this fast and easy way of making their eyebrows look sharp and detailed with a single thread. The fascinating colors of the silk and textiles of the women’s clothing in India get everyone’s attention.

Indian food is completely different from the rest of the world, considering most Hindus are vegetarian. Chicken and lamb are still in their diet although spices and herbs have always been a big part of their dishes. Their foods mainly contain nutritional spices or medicinal spices in their everyday life, but they do vary according to different regions.  Indians eat many baked cuisines. Perhaps you’ve heard of “flat bread”?  Most of their food is eaten with only their fingers or bread.

As for religion, there are four different major ones in India: Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and Sikhism. They were all born in India with different beliefs of their own.  Around 80% of Indians are Hindu. Hindus believe in various gods and goddesses.  They have a strong belief in the divinity of the four Vedas, Karma and Reincarnation but have no systematic way of teaching their value system.

Additionally, India has a number of different languages due to its cultural and geographical diversities. Hindi is the official languages in India. Although different states have their official languages, many Indians do speak the English language as well.

India has a very interesting culture that is different from the rest of the world. It has unique arts, foods, religions and languages, but they all come together to form a beautiful country.
