Cooking with Amber

Amber has been motivated to live healthy her whole life. Both her parents are wellness coaches, and she often sees them teach others how to eat healthy. Amber thought it would be a lot of fun to teach kids how easy and fun it is to be healthy. After shooting videos on an iPad of herself cooking, Amber’s online cooking show was born! At the time, she was only 9-years-old. How amazing!

“I didn’t think anyone other than my grandma and some friends and family would watch my videos,” Amber confessed. “But it turns out lots of people are interested in being healthy! It’s awesome.”

Amber’s cooking shows can be viewed on her website. In her episodes she makes fun recipes like raspberry ice cream, peanut butter jelly apples, and no-guilt chocolate banana peanut butter milkshake. Who knew cooking and eating healthy could be so fun?!

What’s even more amazing?! Amber now has a weekly cooking show on her local FOX news program. “The goal of both shows is to show kids and parents that it’s easy and fun to be healthy, and it is super yummy,” Amber said. “Many recipes we share are family recipes, and some others we have had to change to make it easier for kids to make in the kitchen.”

Amber loves to teach others how to cook healthy. “There are so many people out there who want to be healthy.” Thousands of kids, parents, and grandparents are following Amber’s cooking! “It’s so rewarding to hear people tell me that they tried one of our healthy recipes, and to have them say they loved it and will make it again.”

Kids’ State Dinner

This past summer, Amber had the incredible honor to attend the 2013 Kids’ State Dinner at the White House, hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama. Amber was selected to attend after being named a winner in the 2013 Healthy Lunchtime Challenge.

“The Healthy Lunchtime Challenge is put on by the White House and Epicurious to encourage kids and families to cook and eat healthy meals,” Amber explained. Kids ages 8-12 are invited to submit recipes on four conditions. The recipes must be healthy, affordable, original, and delicious! One recipe from each state as well as the US territories is chosen.

Amber’s Nummy No-Noodle Lasagna recipe proved to be a winning dish!
