Amazing Kids! Magazine

December 2011/January 2012: Issue #53 – Everyday Heroes

Hello Amazing Kids!

We’re excited to bring you our 53rd issue of Amazing Kids! Magazine.  We hope you had a great fall and are looking forward to a fantastic winter. The holiday season is not only about receiving but also about giving and being grateful for everything. This combined December and January issue is themed “Everyday Heroes.” We want to recognize the acts of kindness and everyday heroism people all around us have contributed that may have been overlooked. Check out the fiction section for creative fiction and poetry articles such as “Kyle’s Surprising Hero” and “A Helping Hand to Lean on.” In the nonfiction section, learn how to help your community by reading “How to Become an Everyday Hero” and “Everyday Heroes, Recyclers.” If you’re not traveling far this break, follow our amazing kids to Virginia or across the world to Paris. Have a laugh in the L.O.L humor column where you can read our humor contest winners or check out some amazing holiday recipes in the Cook Time with Remmi column too!

Have a great time enjoying these months with your families and friends. All our Amazing Kids! Staff is so grateful for having you as our readers, having each other to learn and gain support from, and being part of this magazine that encourages reading and writing!

See our contest page for details on current and future contests. Be sure to sign up for our free Amazing Kids! eNews, so that you can receive updates at:  http://amazing-kids.kintera.org/AKeNews.

As always, you are welcome to send your kid-friendly writing or artistic contributions to editor@amazing-kids.org. Don’t forget to review the Submission Guidelines in the “Write for Us” section.

Enjoy your school year and happy writing!

All the Best,
