Frost on the Windowpane

By Allison Stein, Age 12, Michigan

The frost on the windowpanes,
Is like fog in the sky,
It’s thick and unclear and indefinite,
But it gives much comfort to me!

Whenever I see the frost,
All clouded up on the window,
I feel the rush on happiness,
The rush of comfort and love!

And when I glance at the frost,
I see nothing but invisibility,
A joyous feeling,
That rushes through my blood.

And when the frost lifts,
Everything is as it was before,
And no fog remains,
Until the next brisk morning.

Where it is cool and damp,
When hair stands up on my neck,
When the fog comes out,
As does the frost on the windowpanes.
