I am Haiti

By Cecelia Myles Torres, Age 13, Washington

I am the scared children.
I am the hurt families.
I am the Glad uncracked ground.
I am the saved children.
I am the depressed mothers and fathers.
I am the miserable Children.
I am like the Angry Shaken Earth plates.
I am the happy complete families similar to the saved children.
I am the fallen stoplights.
I am the hospitalized.
I am the worry in their eyes.
I am their cries like their dogs that they have kept.
I am the glad people who were not in this tragedy.
I am Haiti’s Earthquake.
Life is like an onion: You peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep.
