I searched for the sun but could not find it and settled on the sky.
It was a brilliant, bright, blasting blue that shone throughout my eyes,
And I saw white puffs of dreamers’ dreams all the way up high.
I looked, and it seemed they were staring,
Waiting,
And waiting,
For a reply.
Suddenly, I felt a heavy weight upon my shoulders.
It felt as if I were holding up the sky
And like I put dreams up there, up so high,
Waiting to be seen.
Today was warm, sunny, bright, and I was happy it wasn’t night
Because in the day no nightmares come, except occasionally,
When the day is barbaric
With storms raging down upon us,
Unsettling the peace.
So, I searched for the sun but could not find it and settled on the sky.
