In and Out People Go

By Ivette Cardenas Alvarado, age 12, California

In and out people go
Stabbing my heart
As evil as black, dangerous crows
While I am trying to restart
They are trying to hurt me in every type of way
Only playing with my feelings
Every night I pray
That I wouldn’t get hurt anymore
By the people I truly love
It only becomes war
First they look like beautiful morning doves
But then there they go again
In and out people go
