The coat closet opens.
It’s my favorite time of the year!
The cocoa is heating,
And soon I’ll be eating
The arms off of gingerbread men.
Feasts are preparing,
And soon I’ll be wearing
My fancy, new holiday clothes.
Oh, how I can’t wait to see
How pink I will be
After facing the cold winter breeze!
The chimney is warm
As I wait for a storm
Of snowflakes round, small, and far
I’m ready to go;
I can’t wait to face the large winter storm.
I hope my earmuffs stay put and steady…
I pry open the door.
When I step outside,
It’s still summer galore!
