My Grandparents’ House

By Allison Stein, Age 13, Michigan

I will walk to my grandparents’ house
Just to be by them awhile;
I will walk to my grandparents’ house
To see my grandparents smile.

When I sit in the kitchen with them,
Grandma, Grandpa, and I talk,
And we go on the dirt roads because
We like to go for spring walks.

We have a lot of traditions, like
Laughing while stemming cherries,
Going for a nice walk down the lane,
And eating wild strawberries.

When I sit down and look at nature,
The pond is beautifully still;
I look at the flower garden, and
I look at the pretty hill.

I will walk to my grandparents’ house
Just to be by them awhile;
I will walk to my grandparents’ house
To see my grandparents smile.
