My Little Orange Carrot, Stuffy

By Naomi P, Age 14, Washington

Little Orange Carrot, stuffy, a stunning sight
Your eyes are gems, shining brighter every night
Your eyes as dark as a wet pebble on the street,
The y caught me into your world all throughout the night.

In reality you were nothing, but not to me
You were like a simple gift, I loved you so.
Sentimental power took over day after day,
Your eyes caught me in to you, why a gift from a land so far.

If only you stayed a little longer,
Didn’t leave me to a realm of new,
You left our house not saying a word,
If only then I didn’t “Pop” your eye.
