Noises I Can’t Hear

By Cecelia Myles Torres, Age 13, Washington

I don’t hear the phone ringing.
I don’t hear the doorbell dinging.
I don’t hear the rattle of the paper in the books.
I don’t hear the snore of my relatives.
I don’t hear the swaying and the yelling of the trees outside as if they were children.
I don’t hear the drip-drip-drip of the water of the sink similar to the drip of a hose outside.
I don’t hear the flush-flush-flush of the toilet downstairs.
I don’t hear the rattling noises of the toys in my sisters room.
I don’t hear the twinkle of the movie on my television.
I don’t hear the honk-honk-honk of the cars driving by.
Bless this house with love and laughter.
