Star-shine in the Moonlight

By Allison Stein, age 11, Michigan

The glimmer that the stars possess,
The shimmer that they share,
At the midnight hour,
Dancing in the moonlight.

The dark sky is filled with sparks tonight,
All little, tiny dots,
It’s all pitch black,
Except for that star-shine in the moonlight.

Sometimes I hear whispers,
Sometimes the night is still,
But all the time I see the glimpse,
Of star-shine in the moonlight.

It stands out from the crowd,
That shiny shimmer does,
Makes me dream and wish alike,
That star-shine in the moonlight.
