The Classroom of Life

By Isela Moreno, age 12, California

A classroom is like a garden;
Our hopes become our sunshine.
As we learn, we till our own soil.
When a teacher sprinkles knowledge,
Our minds begin to grow.
Our garden always smells
Like sweet, flowery perfume
Whenever we perform at high levels.
Watch out for jealousy:
It acts like a weed.
It can sap all of the energy
Out of a classroom.
