Windows

by Meara Hove, age 16, Minnesota

Through my windows I see cities,
Mosaics of stained-glass stars.
Through crystal dance they speak,
Telling stories in lamps and cars.
Through my windows I see mountains,
Standing in their place.
Its kingdom stretches through the Earth,
Savoring its space.
Through my windows I see water,
Flying and falling in rain.
Down it pours, I dance away,
With joy my only gain.
Through my windows I see freedom,
Living in our dreams.
Wonder sings from deep within,
Making me believe.
Through my windows are your windows,
That might be seeing me.
I read reflections into yours,
And try to know what I see.
Who are you? Who am I?
The answers simply dreams.
Through my windows are your windows,
That might be seeing me.
