Winter Feeling

By Anonymous

Winter is a barren place with no mercy
A slumber place with the somber trees
Bombarded with snow and ice

Icicles hang off the trees like dangly earrings
As I walk through an open field
I see the languid soul of summer

Farther into the woods, I see the happiness of winter
Abandoned igloos and snowballs stacked up
Snow angels, sleds, spilled hot cocoa

Happiness and the sadness all in one
The joys of summer replaced
With a cold, merciless barren yet an exciting season

All you want to do is curl up in a ball
And lie warm reading your book
Slowly falling asleep
