Magical World

By Naomi O’Connor, age 12, California

I close my eyes as I sit by the babbling brook, hearing the sounds of the birds singing and the stream streaming off the rocks. I listen to the sound of the drip, drop, drip, drop, of the morning dew, dripping off the leaves. I put my head back with not a care in the world. Drifting off to a world unknown by humans, because that is where the fairies, mermaids, water kelpies and all the magical things dwell. Then all of the sudden I wake up to a house with a loving family and wonder if this is better than a magical world that you can only get a glimpse of. I know that someday far away, I will get there to see the whole thing.
