I Took A Walk is about an unnamed boy who goes for a walk and explores different types of nature. He investigates the woods, lays down in a meadow, and watches a stream with its accompanying pond. While he is taking a walk, he names many different types of animals, insects, and plants, like a tiger beetle or an oxeye daisy. All of the animals, insects, and plants are all pictured, and also hard to locate right away, so it is your job to find each one (like in the I Spy books)! Don’t worry though, there are answers in the back.

I would highly recommend this book, because it gives you a fun way to learn more about nature. On each page, there is a list of animals that you would find in a forest, a meadow, a stream, or a pond; and if you can locate each animal to its picture, you are learning so much more about nature than you did before. When reading this book, I highly recommend using other books or a computer (with parent’s permission) to help you learn more about the creatures listed. I Took a Walk can be found at your local library or bookstore, so go out and get this book!
