This book is a series of “one minute” mysteries that are solved by science. Some of the scientific mysteries use physics, chemistry, earth science and general science. Each mystery has an English and Spanish page, so you can solve the mystery in either language.

My favorite mystery was “Don’t Let The Bugs Bite,” in the General Science category. This one starts off with the kids getting eaten by mosquitos while playing volleyball in the backyard of a boy named Franklin. They later figured out how to stop it from happening. I also liked the mystery “A Half Baked Idea,” which began in a place far from Evelyn’s home. Evelyn made cookies for her family, but they didn’t turn out right. In the end, Evelyn and her friends figure out why.

There are 45 individual mysteries in this book. Every answer to these mysteries is on the following page. I recommend this book for anyone who likes science and mysteries, like me. However, some of these mysteries were too hard for elementary school kids to figure out on their own.
