Q: What quality do you see in a “true” friend?

Jordan Brunk, Amazing Kid from History Editor and Contributing Writer: I think that many qualities make up a true friend. One of the most important to me is trustworthiness because you should always be able to rely on a friend and believe that they are telling you the truth. Being able to trust someone shows one of the qualities for being a true friend because it means you are able to lean on them and believe them.

Soumya Avva, Photography Editor: Honesty is a trait that is very important to me. It is good to build trust because it strengthens relationships.

Brandon Kuske, LOL Column Editor: Friends usually have kindness and understanding, but overall acceptance and inclusion are likely the most important traits in a true friend.

Sophie Nadel, Writer’s Tips Editor: A true friend is ready to laugh with me always and makes any dull situation exhilarating.

Ryan Traynor, Editor-in-Chief: A true friend is one who I can trust, who is loyal, and who accepts me for who I am. True friends are people who I have a great time with, whether we are doing an exciting adventure or just sitting on the couch having a conversation. They are the people I want to share my day with.

Allison Stein, Assistant Editor and Poetry Editor: By far, the most essential quality in a true friend is trust. Enduring friendships are built only when both people can freely confide in each other and jointly invest in the future of the relationship. My closest friends accept and embrace me for the person I am even when I falter in my own convictions of the person I am striving to become; I can trust them to set my heart on the right path.

Catherine Cheng, Amazing Kid of the Month Columnist and Editor: A true friend is someone who loves you unconditionally and always cares about you. They will be there when you need a hug or even just an ear. But at the same time, they will not be afraid to fight with you or tell you when you are making a mistake. Trust is always present.

Sehen Gamhewa, Comic Hub Co-Editor: For me, a true friend would be someone who’s loyal. Who knows the right thing for you, someone who always stands by you. Whether it’s a lost hope or an easy victory, someone who will always be there for you – to give you a shoulder to cry on, or to give a pillar to lean on.

Akshaj Mehta, Sci-Tech Kids Editor: Honesty, playfulness kindness, standing up for me, a friend who gives me pep talks when a friend is sad. All these things are to me what makes up a true friend.

Salma Danuningrat, Fiction Editor: To me, a true friend is someone who will always be by your side no matter what; someone who will care about you and have your back no matter how far apart you are in distance or how different you are from each other.
