What has been your favorite outdoor adventure?

Mindy Yang (Editor-in-Chief): My favorite outdoor activity has been hiking Huang Shan in China. The mountain is over 1000 meters high. Instead of hiking on a path, the mountain is lined with steps and the view is spectacular.

Sean Traynor (Editorial Advisor and Contributing Writer):  My favorite outdoor adventure was white water rafting with my dad and my uncle. Not only was it exciting, but it gave me special time to bond with them. We got into water gun fights with the other rafts and cooked smores at night while camping.

Isabella Taylor (Poetry Editor): My favorite outdoor adventure was going on an African safari.  Being up that close and personal with wild animals was so exciting.   It was amazing to see them in their natural habitat.  My favorite part was the night-time rides looking for lions.  The roar of the lions resonates in your chest and I will never forget that feeling.

Celine Tien (Nonfiction Editor): I loved riding my horse through a rushing river on the side of a mountain – It was amazing!

Ryan Traynor (Contributing Writer): My favorite outdoor adventure was Ice Camping. As a Boy Scout activity we went up to the mountains and camped in the snow. Instead of camping in tents, we had to dig into the snow and build a snow cave to sleep in. Although it was very cold, I learned a lot about planning, the importance of having a “Plan B”, and different ways to survive in extreme cold conditions. It was scary but exciting.
