Q. Which color most inspires you, and why?

Allison Stein, Editor-in-Chief and Poetry Editor: To me, yellow is a color of optimism and hope. Bright hues of sunshine reflect a passion for life and a potential to live it to the fullest: The vibrant beauty of new possibilities evokes within me a positive anticipation for tomorrow. I have always seen life as a journey illuminated by the soft light of kindness, as a world ever in need of more light. Yellow inspires me to act as an outlet of hope in someone else’s journey.

Ryan Traynor, Editorial Advisor: I like the color red because it signifies passion. I like to attack all problems and opportunities with gusto and keep with it until the end.

Stella Prince, AK Adventures and Global Village Editor: For me, it’s blue because whenever I look at it, it’s so bright and beautiful that I feel I can accomplish anything.

Hridhima Tyagi, Money Smarts Editor and Contributing Writer: White inspires me the most. It reminds one of purity. It tells us that we should remove all the negativity from us. It also reminds one of peace.

Emma Kuske, AK Book Reviews Editor: The color pink inspires me the most. For me, the color pink represents all of the love in the world. It’s a constant reminder that I should see the positive side of all situations and be happy and outgoing, just like the color.

Sophie Nadel, Writer’s Tips Editor: I love all colors, but I would say that green inspires me the most. I love nature and am most motivated when I am outside, and green is the color most associated with nature.

Brandon Kuske, LOL Column Editor: Though I would say that green is my favorite color, I believe that blue is the most “inspiring.” Blue can symbolize the depths of the ocean or the far reaches of the sky, both of which hold undiscovered potential and knowledge.

Soumya Avva, Photography Editor: The color yellow inspires me the most because it is such a bright color. I want to be a positive person, and this color reminds me of that.

Akshaj Mehta, Sci-Tech Editor: The color that most inspires me is probably blue. It has always been a soothing color for me. If a candy or drink or food is blue, I will eat it. (It has to be edible, though.) It has been my favorite color to use in writing. (Blue means sad.) I just really like it.

Sarina Patel, Jr. Assistant Editor and Comic Hub Co-Editor: Purple inspires me the most. It is the color of creativity. When I look at something purple, I am often inspired to create new characters.

Jordan Brunk, Amazing Kids from History Editor and Contributing Writer: The color that most inspires me is blue because of its beauty. Depending on the exact blue color, it matches my mood and reminds me of oceans and many other things that are blue. It helps me to see pretty things around me, which inspires me.

Ashley Lin, Nonfiction Editor and Adult Spotlight Interviewer: The color that inspires me the most is purple—I love how it’s the perfect balance of passionate red and calming blue. Warm and cool, it calms me, makes me happy, and encourages me to embrace who I am. In a world with small flashes of hard-to-come-by happiness, purple reminds me of the simple moments. Purple is lighthearted, is ambitious, is free…it tells of what everyone can be.
