Exhilarating Experience to Universal Studios in LA

By Akshaj Mehta, Sci-Tech Kids Editor

My heart was pounding as I entered the gates of Universal Studios. It had been eight years since I last stepped through the gate. I was so excited to finally see the rotunda plaza. We went on the Minions ride first because it was the closet with little wait time. It is a stationary ride that moves corresponding to the screen.

It “transforms” you into a Minion because it is in the point of view of one. Next we went to interact with the donkey from Shrek. He was really funny to talk to. After that the moment I have been waiting for…

Hogsmeade! It was absolutely gorgeous. The castle was amazing; the shops were just as they were written in the books. It felt as if the writing matched exactly every detail of the place. The hippogriff ride was not very fun as it only lasted 20 seconds. The Forbidden Journey was excellent! It was exhilarating, exciting, a little creepy, and just AMAZING! (No, I did not wait 320 minutes for it; I was a single rider, so I went through the fast-pass lane.)

Next we traveled a lot of stories down to the Transformers ride, which was also amazing! It felt like we were actually in the Transformers world! There are two screens, and the rest is real props. For one part, we were falling, and it felt like we were actually falling.

We then went back to Hogsmeade to finish the day. I got a cool Holly Wand.

I also got some Fizzing Whizbees, gummy worms, and a giant spiral lollipop. We tried no-melt ice cream, which was delicious. Butter beer was good, too, but it’s more of a dessert.

Lastly, we went to the studio tour. Now it is much more fun and interactive. There were 3D spots and water and fire effects. It is so much cooler now. We also saw how movies created explosions and caused havoc.

In a nutshell, I highly recommend it, and I had a blast.
