The Impact of a Single Act of Kindness

By Akshaj Mehta, Sci-Tech Kids Editor

According to Oxford Dictionary, the definition of kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Kindness is similar to the Butterfly Effect, which is one small event continuing on to lead to bigger events. For example, when you give someone a compliment, he or she might pass it on and so on, therefore paying it forward. If a few people in the world start giving compliments to each other, in no time the whole world would be smiling. Even small acts of kindness like donating to charity are valuable. The donations you give make the other person happy, and you happy. It’s a win-win! Kindness has a greater impact on the world than you think.  Lastly, I would like to quote the words of the first female pilot, Amelia Earhart: “A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up to make new trees.”
